AWS System Engineer - Software Development Div
Location: Chantilly, VA
Status: Regular Full-Time
Minimum Clearance: TS/SCI with FS Poly
Seeking a Systems Engineer with a diverse IT background, strong hands-on technical experience, information security knowledge. This role shall work with Amazon Web Services, DevOps tools, test defined development, virtualized environments, web services, and access control capabilities to support the migration of IT systems to the a cloud-based environment and progress towards a continuous delivery concept.
You will play an integral role in the following core areas:
Develop and optimize customer development pipeline to more intelligently design, create, deploy, enhance, and maintain and current microservices and capabilities.
Be able to work in various cloud setups and deploy necessary infrastructure, and virtualization within those environments
Manage the IT infrastructure and services per the software code dedicated in a multi-tenant and hybrid cloud environment
You (and your team) shall have the following required skills and demonstrated experience:
Minimum of (4) years of DevOps experience including the use of tools such as Git, Github, Jenkins, Selenium, Rundeck, Maven
Demonstrated on-the-job experience architecting and deploying utilizing Amazon Web Services
Experience with the AWS Management Console.
Demonstrated experience utilizing AMI (Amazon Machine Images) to build and automate Linux and Windows server builds
Experience with AWS Services including EC2, Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, S3, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Cloud Watch
Demonstrated engineering experience in emerging technologies such as Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics and Visualization, and Microservices
Experience collaborating with management, production software teams (owning teams), IT customers, and technical and non-technical staff
Demonstrated on-the-job experience engineering end-to-end system efforts with proven ability to work with other engineers to meet immediate needs
Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Tier-3 troubleshooting, investing, and performing root cause analysis on production incidents
Other demonstrated experiences which are highly desired, though not required, include:
Demonstrated experience performing Linux system administration, Linux engineering, and Linux security engineering
Demonstrated on-the-job experience of building infrastructure using AWS API command line interfaces to interact with AWS services
Demonstrated on-the-job experience designing, engineering, and implementing automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines)
Demonstrated on-the-job experience designing, engineering, and implementing automated implementing patch management of Linux utilizing tools such as Kickstart, YUM, Spacewalk or PUPPET.
Demonstrated on-the-job experience with automated provisioning technologies or methods such as AWS Cloud Formation, Puppet, Chef, and Ansible
Demonstrated on-the-job experience with big-data technologies, such as HADOOP, SPARK.
